A Tour of Gaia’s Creative Space
Hey everyone, welcome to my room, and thanks for stopping by. This is my first time participating in Where Bloggers Create, because I’m new to the blogging world. I have known about the link party for a while because my mom has been a participant for the last two years, and she’ll be posting this year’s tour of her workroom on her blog A Glitch in Time. Now with O Deer being a thing that exists, I get to join in on the fun too! I’d like to thank Karen Valentine of My Desert Cottage for hosting this blog party.
On with the tour! Let’s start with the corner where most of the crafting goes on…
This is my wicker desk, which my mom gave to me. There’s a bookshelf with some reference books and sketchpads. Also, there are some little boxes and jars I keep some odds and ends in. Then there’s my thread rack, a box I keep my bobbins in, and some other stuff. And under the cute cloth cover is my Kenmore 8-Stitch sewing machine. You might recognize this from a previous post… or you might not. Up on top of the desk is where I have a lot of knick-knacks. Fans, tiny chairs, stuffies, dolls…
Here’s an ironing board that I found at a thrift shop. It’s out right now, but when I’m not using it, it lives under my bed, much to the chagrin of any monsters attempting to do the same.
Here’s some of the storage stuff I have around my desk. The colorful drawers to the left of my desk hold fabrics sorted by color. I also use the top of it as a little charging station. To the right of my desk there’s a hanging organizer I made, where I keep scissors, rulers, and other tools close at hand. I like how it turned out, but I need to add more straps to it, because evidently I underestimated how heavy all my shears and other sewing notions would be together. Under the organizer I have a bin where I keep my stuffing close at hand, a cross-stitch project (the pattern is from WitchWolfWeb Creations) I need to finish at some point, and my attempt at making the Luggage from Terry Pratchett’s Discworld novels that I made to go with my Twoflower costume I wore for Halloween a couple of years ago. Also, there’s an AT-AT from Star Wars because why not?
Out the window we can see the garden below. By the window I have a bunch of plants, mostly succulents. There’s also a cute shelf I found at a thrift shop.
I have all kinds of weird decorations… like Geoff the skeleton. Some people keep their skeletons in their closets, but I let mine sit by the window. He glows in the dark, so he’s kind of like a night light. I also have a bunch of stuffies hanging around. Some of them hang around literally in baskets mounted to the wall.
Here’s my entertainment center. There’s all sorts of fun things here… consoles, games, and also a spider with a hat. And over to the right of the shelves there are some dolls that I made… maybe a couple of years ago? My new ones that I’m working on are going to look a lot different.
Well, that’s the end of the tour. I hope you enjoyed this little peek into my workspace. I had a lot of fun with this, so maybe I’ll be doing this next year too. Who knows what weird stuff will make it into my room by then? Only time will tell. Anyways, goodbye for now!
