Find a Gift… Shop Small or Local

It’s that time of year again! We are all bustling about trying to “finish our Holiday Gift Shopping early”. I am a dedicated proponent of the Shop Small and Shop Local philosophy, and I do indeed support and spend my money with many of our nearby small businesses. That said, I am not just an Etsy Seller. I am, and was before I was a Seller, an Etsy Shopper.

I spend so much of my time, between running our Etsy Shop O Deer Mercantile, keeping up with three websites, marketing, social and so forth, online— that I tend to do a great deal of my shopping there as well.

I am going to feature some of my favorite Etsy Shops along with a couple of preferred local haunts. Obviously, I am in the process of doing my Christmas Shopping, so I can’t show my actual purchases from some of these amazing vendors. Shhh!

Shopping Local

While you are enjoying (we hope) the hustle and bustle of this busy season, take time to give lots of love, as well as your shopping/dining dollars to local businesses. It’s no secret that I love vintage, and Moxie Vintage  in Downtown Daytona Beach gets my vote as my favorite local shop.

Thank you for the kind mention and the photo Gwen💗 Being a (very) small business myself, I do try and buy from small and local businesses myself when funds allow, as I can appreciate the work that’s gone into an item, plus items are often unique. As well as adding to small collection of other maker’s brooches, I love to buy supplies, especially hand-dyed embroidery threads, that I can use in my own work, which helps my own work become even more unique.

    Thanks again
    Louise 💜

Of course, it is actually going into a frame and being hung once I finish painting my work room 😉 Here’s wising all of the talented Makers and Small Business owners out there a Merry and Prosperous Christmas!
