Welcome to Our Home
It’s such a busy time of the year for everyone. But I wanted to be sure and give you a peak at the house all decked out for Christmas. At present, only the indoors are decorated, except for a wreath and sign on the front porch. As of tomorrow, we are scheduled to have a new roof put on, just in time for the holidays. We originally contracted for this roof back in late July, certain that it would be done and history before any Fall Holidays arrived. Well— it seems two hurricanes in a year have had the roofing companies far behind— so here we are.
In the meanwhile, here’s the indoor view. We’ll start in the front entry…
From there, we step into the living room. This is where I really indulge my infatuation with gold and glitz. From the champagne tree decked out in my Santa Claus ornament collection and lots of gold and glass baubles, to my bar cart and cabinet with their collection of Libbey Glass mid-century golden leaf barware, my Georges Briard ice bucket and other fun accents, I love and live with tongue-in-cheek Hollywood Glam.
Cross the hall to the recently painted and updated family room, where you’ll find the Stockings Hung by the Chimney with Care and the second Christmas Tree. This is the one I call the Geek Tree because it sports collectible ornaments from 25 years of Star Trek, a Tardis, and characters from Harry Potter. It is also our memory tree. There are ornaments from my first Christmas away from my childhood home, assorted hand-made beauties from three generations of children now, and some I have been given, and treasure, from friends and loved ones over the years. The mantel over the fireplace holds a portion of my ever-growing collection of Santas.
Finally, for today, we’ll take a quick peak into the breakfast nook. My antique pie safe is always topped with vintage treasures, and at Christmas there are my Santa mugs and some other treats.
That’s all I have time for this week. I am one busy Etsy Seller, and I am gratified. If time allows (and the roof gets done) I will do an update next week. Till next time—Happy Holidays!
